Schmidt Vocal Competition

The Schmidt Youth Vocal Competition is open to talented young singers who are currently in their sophomorejunior or senior year in high school. As part of its mission, the Schmidt Foundation  encourages youth in the arts and provides support and inspiration to our next generation of artists.


Hal Leonard Vocal Competition

The annual Hal Leonard Vocal Competition was founded in 2011 to encourage young singers from all over North America, from children through college undergraduates. Thousands of singers have participated in the competition, with top placing videos from 35 states and provinces, and over 40 colleges and universities. The Hal Leonard Vocal Competition was one of the first music competitions held entirely on YouTube.


     National Opera Association (NOA)

More than $8,500 will be awarded to winners at the Carolyn Bailey and Dominick Argento Vocal Competition. Applications are now being accepted for the NOA January 2019 competition in Salt Lake City, Utah. Preliminary screening and Semi-final rounds are heard by recording. Eight to ten finalists are selected in each division to compete in a live final audition. The final auditions will be heard at the NOA Annual Conference in Salt Lake City, on Saturday, January 5, 2019.
